Frankenweenie

Classic Burton
Director Tim Burton goes back to his stop-motion storyboard and reanimates (as it were) a previous 29-minute film short, and in the process returns to the sweet oddball spirit of his earlier triumphs like “The Nightmare Before Christmas.” While not a true original in its own right, and therefore not a classic, this Frankenstein tale of a boy and his dog is slow in spots, but it’s still classic Burton with his creepy, kooky trademarks, so we’ll take it. Rated PG for thematic elements, scary images and action.
