Spielberg at his most intense
For those who didn’t understand the hype behind the so-called political thriller “Syriana” (a well-acted but highly convoluted mess), here is the real deal. Leave it to Steven Spielberg to create a nail-biting, intense, intelligent drama about the aftermath of the massacre of the Israeli athletes at the 1972 Olympics.
Gritty and compelling, the film transports the viewer unlike any other film in recent memory. And while Spielberg wisely sidesteps any moral grandstanding, he gives us a lot to think about while watching Mossad operatives hunt down and assassinate those they believe are responsible.
