Land of Women

A safe Landing

First time Writer-Director Jon Kasdan practically invites comparisons to 2004’s indie darling “Garden State.” But the acting in ‘Land of Women’ is arguably stronger and the mood is more upbeat (even if the trailers are misleading). Adam Brody, Kristin Stewart, and Meg Ryan all shine in performances that elevate the material above typical melodramatic fare. -Michael Bennett
