Haywire

Pretty in black, action attack
Former MMA fighter Gina Carano stars as the prettiest and perhaps toughest Black-ops agent ever in a tight thriller directed by Steven Soderbergh. A top-notch recognizable supporting cast of leading men and a no frills approach to the plentiful fight sequences make for a workmanlike if not totally orginal action film. If the opening 10 minutes don’t grab you turn it off and go watch “Lucky in Love.” Gina Carano has the makings of a female Jean Claude Van-Damme — limited in acting range but plenty of on screen firepower.
Rated R for violence.
Grade: B+
